Privacy Policy

01Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk), we receive your email address, your name if provided, and a user ID. You may also set a display name and timezone.
• Financial data via Plaid. When you connect a financial institution, our provider Plaid securely retrieves read-only information — institution name, account names and types, the last few digits of account numbers, balances, and transaction details (amounts, dates, merchant names, and categories). We never see or store your online banking username or password; Plaid manages that secure connection.
• Billing information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, our payments provider Stripe processes your payment. We store only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your plan status — we never receive or store your full card number.
• Information you create. Goals, notes, and preferences you enter, plus data we derive to run the product (such as detected recurring charges and the context used by the AI features).

02How we use information

We use your information to operate the dashboard, show balances and transactions, detect recurring charges, generate educational AI summaries, process billing, provide support, keep the service secure, and comply with law.

03How information is shared

We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. We share data only with the service providers listed below, strictly to operate Valentino Finance, or when required by law.

04Service providers (sub-processors)

• Clerk — account authentication and identity.
• Plaid — secure, read-only connection to your financial institutions. See Plaid's end-user privacy policy at plaid.com/legal.
• OpenAI — generates your educational AI summaries from the financial context you choose to use. Data sent through OpenAI's API is not used to train their models, and AI output is informational only.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment card processing.
• Microsoft Azure — secure cloud hosting and database storage (United States region).

05Connecting and disconnecting accounts

You can disconnect any financial institution at any time from the app. Disconnecting stops further data retrieval for that institution and removes its stored data.

06Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your entire account at any time from Settings → Delete account; this permanently removes your data from our database and disconnects your financial institutions through Plaid. Residual copies in encrypted backups are removed within the backup-retention window (up to 35 days). You may also request deletion by emailing hello@umniktech.com.

07Your privacy rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you may object to certain processing. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law (CCPA/CPRA), and we honor the same rights for residents of Maryland and other U.S. states. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email hello@umniktech.com.

08Cookies

We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in (set by our authentication provider). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

09Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, encrypted storage of financial-provider access tokens, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

10Children

Valentino Finance is intended for adults (18 and older) and is not directed to children under 13.

11Data breaches

If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
